when shawn and melanie asked me to come down to tampa for their engagement shoot i immediately became excited. it had been a few years since i had been to florida and escaping michigan in november even if only for a short time was reason to celebrate. instead of putting me up in a hotel they offered me the guest room at their house, which was extremely generous. much to my surprise they didn’t get sick of me, or at least never let on to it, which is a win for me either way. i was able to become best friends with their little dog mr. bojangles, who for a brief moment i debated dog-napping and bringing back to detroit. i’ve never laughed so hard at an animal in my entire life, so i was thrilled they wanted to include him in the shoot. the trip was a blast, the engagement was great and it was all due to the awesomeness of shawn and melanie. the weekend was easily one of the highlights of my year, both professionally and personally. i couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out.

wowzer! What an amazing load of locations!
Great pictures Ryan. Especially love the one with their dog jumping up!
That has to be the coolest forest I have ever seen. Love the way you use the architecture in your photos.
Great capture, composition and lighting. I also like the color effects you use.
Love this set! Photos #14 & 28 stopped me in my tracks!
wow. You’ve got some stunning locations! Awesome job!
Killer locations and you made great use of them! Beautiful work.
The poochy just hates the spotlight huh! But seriously, I love this session. Really nice use of raw emotion combined with amazing locations.
DUDE. You rocked this! I was all, “oh what a gorgeous location, and such an awesome dog!” and then there were like 3 more awesome locations! Those ones where the building overhang is above them are so cool, because it messes with one’s perspective, and makes it look like the couple are floating sideways or something!
Unreal! Amazing session Ryan! Your locations, composition, light, and your processing is phenomenal
Yes….Awesome frames!
Nice shoot Ryan, loved the ones with the cement tubing and I really like a lot of the others but I’m going to be hard pressed trying to explain which my faves are so lets just say the whole shoot was a success!! Brilliant work as usual!
Fantastic compositon! I love it.
