Hudson’s Detroit
In 2022, Ryan Southen Photography was approached by SHoP Architects after I shared images of the Hudson’s Site on Instagram. While the firm was not originally documenting the project’s progress, the photographs I posted to social media sparked a collaboration that has since produced hundreds of images cataloging the development. My ongoing documentation includes wide-angle drone photography, detailed architectural images of the building’s distinctive design, and photographs that capture the Hudson’s Site’s growing presence in the Detroit skyline.
In addition to core architectural photography, I have documented key moments in the life of the project, including the topping-off ceremony, the Thanksgiving Parade, and the first year of the Nick Gilbert Way holiday activation. This architecture photography gallery will continue to expand as the Hudson’s Site complex in downtown Detroit approaches full completion in 2027.
